1-2 horas por semana. It is recommended that students have at least two practice sessions between each lesson. Ideally, they will be able to plan at least 10 minutes each day to practice. More specific recommendations will vary based on level and experience.Experiencia de clase
In this individualized lesson, we’ll have a great time making all kinds of great cello music together! We’ll focus on developing a solid sense of rhythm, intonation, and musicality while learning and playing enjoyable music. Each class will be focused around your student’s musical interests, needs, and goals. If none of the listed times work for you, feel free to send me a message and we can find a time! We’ll spend the first lesson getting to know about each other, talking about their musical background, what music they’ve been working on (if anything), what kind of music they would like to play, and set some specific goals to work towards. If they’re an experienced player, I’ll have them play a scale or song that they already know so we can start getting to work! If they are new to the cello, we’ll discuss proper playing position, bow hold, and focus on the basics of producing a good sound. After the first class, I will send suggested music for technique building as well as some fun, level-appropriate solo music. It will work best if students are able to spend at least a little time practicing each week between lessons so they can apply the things they learn and start working on their music. I recommend at least 10 minutes per day for beginners, increasing time as they progress. The classes will build upon each other, based on progress made. As students gain a greater mastery of each piece, we’ll move on towards other pieces of music that can help them strengthen other musical skills and techniques. I’m looking forward to seeing them in class!

Students need to have a cello and bow in working condition to fully participate in this class. Ideally, they should be able to set up in front of the computer in a way that offers a clear view of both hands when they play and gives them a little space to move their arms.

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Doctorado en Música o Teatro o Artes desde Louisiana State University
Hello! I'm Dr. Katie Troy and I absolutely love playing cello and teaching about music! I have over 18 years of playing and performing experience and I recently earned my Doctorate of Musical Arts in Cello Performance from LSU. I am also a Certified Music Practitioner, which means I can play healing music at the bedside of patients in hospitals.
I'm here to bring the love of music to your students by helping them improve their knowledge, technique, and sense of musicality in a fun, individualized way.
A fun fact about me is that I’m also a llama trainer, so I help llamas get ready to go on big adventures in the mountains! I love hiking with them in beautiful places and laughing at their fun personalities.
I can’t wait to meet your students so we can start learning together!
