Students will be taught about the Wellington Rescue,where 37 men were charged with helping a fugitive slave escape. Topics covered will be 19th century constitutional laws, Ohio constitutional laws, legal terms and definitions with relation to the Oberlin Wellington court case, United States government officials and their role in the slave law making process, the history of opponents of federal slave laws.
