This class will introduce you to subjects that will help you make better choices for a healthier you. Subjects briefly discussed include calories, vitamins, minerals, and food guides. No previous knowledge is necessary.

US Grade 7 - 10
Beginner Level
We will cover in class the basics of calorie intake and use. We will discuss the basic food groups and types of vitamins and how to include them in your diet. The students will be given some good alternatives to common naughty foods (The American diet has MANY naughty foods. We will focus on highly processed, high fat and high sugar foods as naughty foods.) This is an informational style lecture with opportunity for questions at the end.
Learning Goals
The main learning goal is to learn about calories, vitamins, minerals and food groups to help the student make better food and lifestyle choices for better health and energy.
