In this class, we will focus on understanding the foundations of working with fractions.  Students would be expected to learn:

*What fractions are
*How to compare 2 fractions
*How to put a fraction into simplest terms
*How to add and subtract fractions with like denominators
*Finding the least common denominator (LCD)
*Adding fractions with unlike denominators
*Subtraction of fractions with unlike denominators

These learning objectives will be achieved using step-by-step instruction, practice exercises, and a few word problems to be sure that these topics are understood fully.

Fractions are a vital part of later mathematics, and one students struggle with, even many older students.  Learning the foundations properly will help your learner equip themselves for what they are going to learn from their current grade and all the way into later high school math!
