Ninja Powers: tutoría académica privada y divertida para niños de 5 a 9 años

Whether your student is looking to get ahead in reading or writing, or needs a little extra help, my private tutoring classes incorporate learning and movement to help facilitate the perfect balance.  Every session will incorporate specific learning goals established by parent and teacher, while getting students excited and confident that they can excel. Lessons will start with a physical warm up such as jumping jacks, stretches, ninja chops, and then move into academic goals. Students will be out of their seats at times, and may be loud. 

Sample lesson:
Parent and teacher have conferenced and established that the kindergarten student needs additional practice on phonological awareness and words recognition.

Week 1 - Obstacle Course Sight Words
Student will review age appropriate sight words, read them in a ninja themed story, and then create an obstacle course to practice skill.

Week 2 - Punch Out Rhyming Words
Students will review what rhyming words are, create rhyming words, then read a ninja story that uses rhymes.  Last weeks skills will be reviewed, and incorporated into the lesson. Movement drill will be incorporated such as board breaking.

Week 3 -  Syllables and Strikes
Students will identify, count, pronounce, blend, and segment one and two syllable words. Using punches and kicks, they will practice the skill and review previous concepts.

Week 4- Teacher Review
Informal assessment to identify areas that need additional review, new goals set as needed.
