Ready to take your phonics to the next level? Already know basic phonograms and ready for more? This class is for you! Each week we will break down multisyllable words and discover rules to help us sound them out. We will also study a new prefix, suffix, or root word each week to support vocabulary and deciphering the meaning of new words.

In each class, students will start with a morpheme study. We will work together with new words to determine the meaning using prefixes, suffixes, or root words. Then, we will practice decoding multisyllable words with a new spelling rule. Students will interact with their classmates as they play games to review the class lesson and complete graphic organizers. I will provide an encouraging environment where students can share their opinions and reach their potential.

This class is for students who are familiar with basic phonograms and sounding out words. In this class, we will move beyond one syllable words and take phonics to the next level, so students can sound out more difficult words as well as determine their meanings.

Hi! My name is Andrea and I love teaching! I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary education which I have used in many different environments, from elementary and special education classrooms to homeschooling my own three children. I have spent time teaching and volunteering at homeschool co-op groups. Currently I am teaching ESL in an online classroom. Regardless of the classroom format, I enjoy helping children learn and reach their full potential!

Your student will have fun learning in my classroom! I enjoy teaching with lots of interactive games and teamwork! We will work on important foundational skills in my favorite subjects; reading and language arts. I want to help your student to become an independent learner by asking thoughtful questions and finding creative solutions.

When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my husband and three children ages 14, 11, and 9. We love to read together, take walks, and play soccer.
