Nature Craft is a series of arts & nature-based learning experiences especially designed for the children aged 6-10 to cultivate a relationship to the natural world by means of craft-art projects. This course utilizes materials that are readily accessible in the child’s natural environment as well as materials that can be sourced locally. Materials can be sourced by art & craft stores and from natural terrains; such as parks, and neighborhood outings. Together we will meet to dive into new projects, daily, creating nature weaves and mother earth crowns, designing nature wreaths and creating clay medallions using air dry clay with natural materials... Sequins & glitter are always an embellishment to add too! week 1 Project: Nature Weave Materials: Twigs, Botanical items ( suggested materials: long stemmed flowers, bulky cluster flowers, feathers ,herbs, ribbons or twine or yarns, tree fiber, bark) week 2 Project: Co-Create with Nature Materials: Paper, glue ( glue stick), 1 or 2 leaves or flower petals, oil pastels or crayons or markers week 3 Project: Nature Wreath Materials: Willow dried wreath, Evergreens, herbs, Eucalyptus branches, flowers, ribbon, pipe-cleaners, floral wire week 4 Project: Mother Earth Crowns Materials: Paper covered wire or Pipe-Cleaners, ribbons, floral wire, scissors, small clippings of flowering plants, leaves, ferns week 5 Project: Nature Medallion Materials: Air-Dry Clay, little bits of flower petals, and or leaves, or spices, and/or shells, and natural material that is small and interest you, white glue, ribbons to hang afterwards, pencil, paper plate ** Optional- paints

I have a Master Degree in Early Childhood/Primary Education and a Bachelor Degree in Child Development, active in the field for several decades. I am also a National Geographic Certified Educator, and certified to teach the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB PYP). Also, I am TESOL certified, teaching English as a Second Language. I am the Founder of Connecting Children to Art in Nature; educational business that offer children and families services to connect to nature in artful and eco-friendly formats and perspectives. I create educational design and curriculum for youth and families for botanical gardens, children's schools, private and public settings, nature centers, as well as lecture in universities and colleges presenting professional development workshops for educators. My class offerings on Outschool are inspired by various pedagogies such as the Reggio-Emilia and Waldorf practices and place-based, best practices in environmental education. I offer traditional art studio courses, art appreciation, art & nature-based classes & programs, and environmental education.
