In this National 5 Maths Summer Booster, students will review key topics from the Scottish curriculum to build confidence and fill any gaps before the new school year. We’ll cover core areas such as algebra, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, area and volume, and data handling, tailored to the needs of the group. Example topics include: Algebra - Making and solving equations Numeracy - Working with fractions Geometry - Reviewing angles Trigonometry - SOH CAH TOA and Pythagoras Each session will follow a structured format: • A brief, clear explanation of the topic • Guided examples with step-by-step support • Practice questions with individual help • Opportunities for questions, discussion, and review I use slides to keep lessons visually clear and focused, and my teaching style is calm, encouraging, and responsive to each learner. Students are welcome to interact throughout—either by speaking, typing in the chat, or using the shared whiteboard. I create a friendly, low-pressure space where learners feel safe to ask questions and try things out. This class is ideal for students moving into or reviewing National 5 Maths who want a solid, confidence-building summer refresher.

I am a qualified and experienced tutor who has worked with secondary students across Scotland for several years, specialising in National 5 Maths, Higher Maths, and National 5 Applications of Mathematics. I have supported a wide range of learners, including those with additional support needs, both in school settings and through private tuition. I currently work full-time as a tutor and have extensive experience preparing students for SQA exams, helping them build both subject knowledge and confidence.
In addition to my teaching experience, I have personal academic success in mathematics, having scored 90-100% in several university level maths exams. This deep understanding of mathematical concepts allows me to explain topics clearly and adapt my teaching to suit each learner’s needs.
