Sight words are words that are memorized to help students learn to read and write. Learning sight words allows students to recognize words at a glance and also makes reading easier and faster.   When a child has a firm concept of sight words their reading becomes more fluent which helps students gain reading comprehension knowledge.  

Each week students will be introduced to new sight words using a variety of teaching strategies. Students will play a sight word game, practice writing sight words and do a fun sight word activity each week.

This class is ongoing, feel free to drop in for any class.

Week 1
Focus words for the week : they, good, now, must, please

Week 2
Focus words for the week:  pretty, ran, saw, soon, that

Week 3
Focus words for the week:  there, came, has, under, new

Week 4
Focus words for the week:  this, after, when, him, ask

Week 5
Focus words for the week: again, over, live, just, has

Week 6
Focus words for the week:  could, give, open, any, some

Week 7
Focus words for the week: every, going, had, may, them

Week 8
