This class is a fantastic way for your child to begin their journey into music. We will approach music in a fun and practical way that is great for beginners. This is an introductory class and no prior knowledge of music is required - all are welcome! This class is interactive and will include lots of singing and activities to introduce learners to new musical material. The learning objections of this class include the following: sing, play, read, listen, and movement. Each week will include learning a new symbol (i.e. treble clef, bass clef, quarter note, quarter rest, dynamics). The curriculum of the final week of class will be determined by the progress and interests of the learners. We will be learning the musical alphabet [A B C D E F G] and prior knowledge of the English Alphabet A-Z will be helpful. The class is structured as 20 minutes of learning time and 5 minutes of connection time where learners can ask questions, share a song, an instrument, or a toy with the rest of the class. Curriculum: Week 1: Intro to music: learning the musical alphabet & Intro to rhythm: clapping and counting rhythms Week 2: Intro to melody: listening to and hearing melodies, singing melodies Week 3: Intro to a composer & dynamics: listening to music by Mozart and a brief intro of his work Miss Brooke is very patient and is passionate about teaching music to her students. She can't wait to meet your learner!

Hello! My name is Brooke and I am passionate about teaching individual voice lessons, music theory, and music history!
Here in my classroom you’ll find engaging, upbeat, and encouraging instruction to help your student gain confidence in all things music! My goal is to create an atmosphere that encourages learning and curiosity while delivering a supportive, engaging, and educational session in which students leave class feeling more confident and equipped with the information they need to progress. I offer an array of classes for a variety of ages. I am both patient and approachable as well as energetic and fun.
I have been teaching voice and acting classes for over 10 years in a variety of settings in the public schools, private schools, arts camps, private music studios, university, and online with students of all ages. I am a professional singer and actor and I enjoy singing a variety of styles from opera to musical theatre. I hold a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Palm Beach Atlantic University. I am equivalently passionate about performing as well as teaching music.
In my free time I enjoy hiking, being in nature, and learning languages!
