Do you want your son or daughter to learn to recognize their emotions and be able to do breathing exercises to calm themselves or regulate their emotions in times of stress? If so, you don't want your child to miss this class. Students will learn about the emotions: happiness, sadness, anger and anxiety. We will discuss what each emotion is and the way we feel with each emotion. Students will learn through discussion time, quizzes and hands on activities. We will learn what mindfulness is and we will practice exercises in class. We will talk about how to apply these breathing exercises to everyday life. Students will be able to talk about these emotions and learn a few coping skills. These skills will help students during stressful times such as the current coronavirus pandemic, testing anxiety and stress with peer relationships. Students will be able to apply the skills they learn to everyday experiences. Students will hear an interesting story about anxiety and why it can be important to protect us, but students will also learn what to do when they are feeling nervous or scared. At the end of the class students will use what they learned in class to create an art project they can use everyday in regulating their emotions. I can't wait to see your child in class!
