In this ongoing, weekly class students will dive into another Magic Treehouse Book as we follow Jack and Annie on their many adventures through time! Students will be asked to read the selected Magic Treehouse book for the week BEFORE they come to class so they will be prepared to discuss it with me and the rest of the group. Our discussions will cover characters, plot, settings, key events, real life connections and more. In addition to discussions we will study some of the subject material in each of the books including (Music, theatre arts, geography, visual arts, social studies, science, animals and wildlife, math, nature and conservation, mythology and legends). We will play games, do activities and crafts that relate to these different subject areas. We will also discuss new vocabulary that we see in each book and incorporate games and activities around that as well. ***STUDENTS MAY JOIN AT ANY TIME AS WE DISCUSS A NEW BOOK EACH CLASS SESSION*** Wednesday SECTION MEETING AT 9:00 am 11/6- #31 Warriors in Winter 11/13- #32 To the Future, Ben Franklin 11/20- #33 Narwhal on a Sunny Night 11/27- #34 Late Lunch with Llamas 12/4- #35 Camp Time in California 12/11- -#36- Sunlight of the Snow Leopard 12/18 #37 Rhinos at Recess (LAST CLASS) Wednesday SECTION MEETING AT 5pm 11/13- #7 Sunset of the Sabertooth 11/20- #8 Midnight on the Moon 11/27- NO CLASS THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY 12/4- #9 Dolphins at Daybreak 12/11- #10 Ghost Town at Sundown 12/18- #11 Lions at Lunchtime ****LAST CLASS****** Friday SECTION MEETING AT 12:00pm 10/11- #18 Buffalo Before Breakfast 10/18- #19 Tigers at Twilight 10/25- #20 Dingoes at Dinnertime 11/1-#21 Civil War on Sunday 11/8- #22 Revolutionary War on Wednesday 11/15- #23 Twister on Tuesday 11/22- #24 Earthquake in the Early Morning 11/29 NO CLASS HOLIDAY 12/13- #25 Stage Fright on a Summer Night12/6 - #26 Good Morning, Gorillas 12/20- #27 Thanksgiving on Thursday10/5- 12/27- NO CLASS HOLIDAY BREAK 1/3- NO CLASS HOLIDAY BREAK 1/10- #28 High Tide in Hawaii 1/17 - #29 A Big Day For Baseball 1/24- #30 Hurricane Heroes in Texas 1/31- #31 Warriors in Winter 2/7- #32 To the Future, Ben Franklin 2/14- #33 Narwhal on a Sunny Night 2/21- #34 Late Lunch with Llamas 2/28- #35 Camp Time in California 3/7- #36- Sunlight of the Snow Leopard 3/14- -#37- Rhinos at Recess ****LAST CLASS****

The student will need a copy of the book for each week to read. Students may also create a craft in class and should have some glue, scissors, coloring pens/pencils/crayons of their choice and a pencil to write with for each class. Hello Parents and Students!
Hi my name is Mary Teegarden. My online students call me Miss Mary.
I am a mom of three amazing kids. When I am not teaching I love to read, sing and spend time with my family and friends.
This is my 27th year as a teacher. I have been a classroom teacher, a children's director, a reading intervention teacher for grades K-2 and most recently a private reading tutor and online teacher. I earned my Bachelor Of Elementary Education Degree from the University of Kentucky and my Master's Degree in Reading and Writing from Northern Kentucky University. I hold a teaching certificate in Grade K-5 in the state of Kentucky.
I am very passionate about teaching. I especially love anything to do with reading!! I love to see children learn and grow. Developing relationships with my students is so important to me and I enjoy getting to know each child in my class. I think that learning should be fun and plan lessons and activities for my classes that get students moving and thinking.
I will be teaching foundational reading skills in my classes for grades K-2. My classes will include phonemic awareness skills, letter recognition and sound, word building as well as sight word building skills.
I can't wait to meet your son or daughter!! See you soon!
