Morfología para estudiantes de secundaria
En este curso de 4 sesiones sobre la ciencia del lenguaje humano, los estudiantes aprenden cómo los idiomas construyen palabras a partir de las unidades de significado más pequeñas: los morfemas. Los temas incluyen la formación de palabras, los procesos morfológicos, la tipología, la jerarquía y más.

Linguistics is the science of human language, including what the more than 7,000 languages on Earth have in common and what distinguishes one language or variety from another. Studying linguistics allows us to understand the cognitive possibilities for how the brain structures language. Morphology is part of our mental grammar-- the part that deals with word types, word formation, how words are formed out of morphemes, the smallest units of meaning in human language. It looks at the internal structure of words, how they can be marked for grammatical features such as number or verb tense, and the rule-governed nature of the systematic combination of morphemes. This course is a great way to practice analytical skills, learn a topic usually only available to students at the college level, and is fantastic preparation for studying foreign languages, gaining insight into the nature of your own language, and indispensable for the rewarding hobby of creating constructed languages (con-lang) for world-building. We will see examples from over 10 different languages during the class.
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will explore the idea that words have their own internal structure
Students will learn the representation of different morphemes and morphological processes in the mind
