Experiencia de clase

Financial literacy is a crucial skill that every learner should acquire to prepare themselves for the future. Unfortunately, it is often overlooked in traditional school curricula. Understanding how money works, the importance of early savings, and how to avoid significant financial pitfalls are essential aspects of financial literacy.

In this ongoing class, we will explore a variety of financial topics each week to empower students with the necessary knowledge and skills. Through a combination of lectures, discussions, videos, games, and activities, we will make these sometimes-challenging topics more accessible and engaging.

Throughout the course, learners will cover important subjects such as:
1. Budgeting: Understanding the significance of budgeting, creating a budget, tracking income and expenses, and making informed spending decisions.
2. Investing: Exploring the world of investments, including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and other investment vehicles. Learning about long-term financial planning and the potential risks and rewards associated with investing.
3. Saving: Emphasizing the importance of saving money, the power of compounding, setting financial goals, and implementing effective saving strategies.
4. Borrowing: Gaining insights into various types of borrowing, such as loans and credit cards. Discussing responsible borrowing practices, credit scores, and the potential risks of excessive debt.

By focusing on these key topics, learners will develop a strong foundation in financial literacy. They will be equipped with the knowledge and tools to make informed financial decisions, promoting financial well-being and independence.

Join this ongoing class to expand your understanding of personal finance and cultivate valuable skills that will last you a lifetime!

Hi! My name is Lydia. I am a teacher and a librarian. I love learning, and I think learning should be fun. I like to laugh, sing, and play with little kids, and I love exploring strange and exciting topics with older learners.

Throughout the course of my career, I have worked with kids of all ages - from children as young as three all the way up to high school seniors.I have worked as a classroom teacher, preschool teacher, school librarian, nanny, camp counselor, and volleyball coach. I have more than ten years experience working with kids. I have a Bachelor's degree in English. I also have a Master's degree in Library and Informational Sciences specializing in school library media. When I completed my Master's program, I receiving a teaching certificate in the state of Virginia.

Before my career in education, I worked as a newspaper reporter. I still love reading a daily newspaper, and I am very passionate about current events.

I also love to cook and bake, and I'm really good at it. I even have my own wheat grinder and make my own bread. It's not all healthy, though. I can make some of the best tasting ice cream in the world! Check out some of my cooking classes, and I'll teach you all you need to know!

Please come join me in one of my classes! I'd love to see you soon!
