This ongoing course is designed to equip teenagers with essential financial knowledge and practical skills for their future. Through interactive lessons, real-world simulations, and hands-on activities, students will learn fundamental concepts from basic budgeting to investing strategies. The course emphasizes both immediate financial decisions teens face, such as managing part-time job income and saving for purchases, as well as crucial long-term financial planning skills they'll need as young adults. Throughout the program, students will develop their financial literacy through engaging projects, group discussions, and personal finance challenges. Each 40-minute session combines theoretical knowledge with practical applications, ensuring students can immediately apply what they learn to their daily lives. The curriculum progresses from basic concepts to more complex financial topics, building a strong foundation for lifelong financial success. 2025 Schedule: Module 1: Understanding Money & Financial Success Week of 2/2/2025: Introduction to Money & Financial Planning Week of 2/9/2025: Economic Impact on Personal Finance Week of 2/16/2025: Smart Financial Decision Making Week of 2/23/2025: Setting Financial Goals Module 2: Banking & Digital Money Week of 3/2/2025: Banking Fundamentals Week of 3/9/2025: Managing Checking & Savings Week of 3/16/2025: Digital Banking Tools Week of 3/23/2025: Electronic Money Safety Module 3: Budgeting Essentials Week of 3/30/2025: Creating Your First Budget Week of 4/6/2025: Income & Expense Tracking Week of 4/13/2025: Financial Statement Basics Week of 4/20/2025: Managing Cash Flow Module 4: Credit & Borrowing Week of 4/27/2025: Understanding Credit Week of 5/4/2025: Credit Cards 101 Week of 5/11/2025: Building Good Credit Week of 5/18/2025: Managing Debt Module 5: Income & Taxes Week of 5/25/2025: Understanding Income Types Week of 6/1/2025: Tax Basics Week of 6/8/2025: Employment & Taxes Week of 6/15/2025: Tax Planning Strategies Module 6: Saving & Investing Basics Week of 6/22/2025: Investment Fundamentals Week of 6/29/2025: Investment Options Week of 7/6/2025: Stock Market Basics Week of 7/13/2025: Mutual Funds & ETFs Module 7: Risk Management & Insurance Week of 7/20/2025: Understanding Risk Week of 7/27/2025: Insurance Basics Week of 8/3/2025: Health Insurance Essentials Week of 8/10/2025: Property Insurance Module 8: Career & Income Planning Week of 8/17/2025: Career Planning Basics Week of 8/24/2025: Job Search Strategies Week of 8/31/2025: Income Negotiation Week of 9/7/2025: Employee Benefits Module 9: Major Purchases Week of 9/14/2025: Smart Shopping Strategies Week of 9/21/2025: Vehicle Purchasing Week of 9/28/2025: Housing Decisions Week of 10/5/2025: Negotiation Skills Module 10: Investment Strategies Week of 10/12/2025: Portfolio Building Week of 10/19/2025: Understanding Bonds Week of 10/26/2025: Real Estate Investment Week of 11/2/2025: Alternative Investments Module 11: Life Planning Week of 11/9/2025: Life Insurance Basics Week of 11/16/2025: Retirement Planning Week of 11/23/2025: Social Security & Benefits Week of 11/30/2025: Estate Planning Basics Module 12: Advanced Money Management Week of 12/7/2025: Long-term Financial Planning Week of 12/14/2025: Investment Analysis Tools Week of 12/21/2025: Advanced Tax Strategies Week of 12/28/2025: Financial Technology Trends Module 13: Consumer Protection Week of 1/4/2026: Identity Theft Prevention Week of 1/11/2026: Financial Scams & Fraud Week of 1/18/2026: Consumer Rights Week of 1/25/2026: Financial Privacy Module 14: Global Finance Week of 2/1/2026: International Markets Week of 2/8/2026: Currency Exchange Week of 2/15/2026: Global Economic Factors Week of 2/22/2026: International Banking Module 15: Future of Finance Week of 3/1/2026: Digital Currencies Week of 3/8/2026: Emerging Payment Systems Week of 3/15/2026: Sustainable Investing Week of 3/22/2026: Financial Innovation *Note: All weeks begin on Sunday. Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
As a financial coach and certified Christian financial counselor, I bring both professional expertise and practical experience to teaching financial literacy. My background includes 13 years of teaching mathematics at the middle and high school levels, where I've helped students build strong analytical and problem-solving skills essential for financial understanding. Additionally, I currently serve as an assistant professor at a university, giving me insight into the financial challenges and decisions students face during their transition to higher education. My five years of online teaching experience ensures I can effectively engage students in both virtual and in-person learning environments. Through my work as a financial coach, I've guided individuals and families in developing sustainable financial habits, managing debt, and creating paths to financial freedom. This combination of educational experience and financial expertise allows me to present complex financial concepts in an accessible, engaging way that resonates with teenage learners while preparing them for real-world financial decisions.
