Students will be given a budget of how much they can spend and will choose 2 out of 3 items that they can purchase that will not go over their budget. Students will use addition to determine which items they can purchase without going over their budget. Lesson 4: 💰Making Change💰 Students will use subtraction or **counting on to make change. Lesson 5: 💰Applying All 4 Skills in a Shopping Experience💰 Students will... -Determine how much money they have in their "bank account" by counting the bills and coins in the account -Determine what their budget will be for the store based off of the amount in their bank account -Use addition to keep track of how much they are spending at the store as they select the items they'd like to buy -Use subtraction or **counting on to determine how much change they will get back after they pay for their items **“Counting on” means to start with the item’s price, then count up to the amount paid with to find the difference. Students will be able to purchase items while sticking to a budget.
Students will be introduced to what a budget is.
