A basic knowledge of world history, and familiarity with a world map are helpful but not required for success in the class. It is not necessary to take Modern Geopolitics 1 before taking Modern Geopolitics 2.
Students must have their own copy of "The Power of Geography" by Tim Marshall, widely available in multiple formats online for $3-$20.
The study of geopolitics is full of potential controversy. In my classes, I welcome civil, informed discussion based on non-biased sources.
