Each week we will conduct a mock trial and discuss the different roles in court. Students will play these roles and learn about how laws are made and interpreted by courts. Students will take turns with the role of attorney, judge, jury, bailiff, witness, and defendant. By playing the different roles students will learn skills such as oral advocacy, speech, and logic. We will play games and discuss the roles of Police officers in questioning witnesses, criminal defense investigators, and others roles that are important to how our courts work. Students will experience different roles in court by playing those parts. To better understand the different aspects of trial and the justice systems students can take Criminal Law Bootcamp prior or during this course.
