Juicio simulado

Se les presentará a los estudiantes el proceso de juicio simulado. Comenzaremos aprendiendo la diferencia entre el tribunal de apelaciones y el tribunal de primera instancia. Los estudiantes también desempeñarán los roles en un juicio simulado.

Tarea
1 hora por semana. Students will be required to watch a video and read their roles prior to class. A small portion will be dedicated to going over the roles before trial.
Evaluación
Informal assessment. Parents can inquire about their student's performance if they want feedback.

Students will have a discussion about the different types of courts and we will work together through an interactive quiz. Students will play the roles in a mock trial. These roles include members of the jury, the judge, witnesses, the defendant,  the prosecutor, and the defense attorney. Students will receive a video to review before class (three little pigs), students will be given roles to play and a list of things to remember for those roles (please go over this role with the student before class; roles are picked randomly), students will then conduct a mock trial of the Big Bad Wolf and (depending on number of students) the jury or judge will decide if the wolf is guilty.

Students will learn to oral advocacy, actively listening, how the court's works, the different types of court, the roles judges, juries, witnesses, and attorneys play in court.
