In this ongoing class, learners will paint tabletop miniatures together. Each week I will provide a theme (ex: 'dragon', 'knight', 'sea monster') for the type of miniature that I will be painting. Learners are encouraged to follow the week's theme and bring a similar miniature to paint, but are also free to paint any other kind of miniature. If a learner does not have anything to paint but still wishes to join for the discussion, they are welcome. A learner can start a new paint job for the meeting, or continue an in-progress paint job, if they'd like. This class is ongoing, so learners may join-in or drop-out each week. We will begin each class by showing the miniatures we have brought to paint for the meeting. From there, we will paint the minis and discuss any tabletop adventures or games we have played lately, and/or topics related to them. I'll check with each learner to see if they would like to share during class, but it is okay if they would prefer to mainly listen. If a learner is a new painter and wants advice or guidance, I'm more than happy to do so. At the end of class we will check in on the progress of everyone's paint job and announce the theme for the next week. If a learner wasn't present for the previous week but wishes to know the upcoming theme, please send me a message and I will do my best to respond within a day (or before the next meeting, whichever is faster).

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Hello, and thanks for stopping by!
My name is Dalton and I am passionate about the arts in many forms - from writing, to visual, to martial. I offer classes such as:
-Genre fiction writing
-Book clubs
-Martial arts + self defense
-Dungeons and Dragons
I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of the Fraser Valley. My experience there instilled a deep love of stories, creativity, collaboration, learning, and teaching. In the years since, I have gained experience as a group tutor for ESL students, worked with local community centres to lead spring break camps, and I have assisted in teaching martial arts at my gym, where I have trained for nearly a decade and previously competed out of.
I believe that learning is best accomplished in a low-pressure, welcoming, and encouraging environment. That encouragement comes in the form of openness and creativity, as students gain the most confidence when they can explore new fascinations and hobbies without risk of embarrassment. That means: positive learning environments only!
In my free time I enjoy training in martial arts, reading all sorts of books, writing novels, playing videogames, and adventuring with my friends and family in Dungeons and Dragons.
