This gaming club will bring Minecraft players together once a week to play on a private server with a wide variety of game-modes to play while making new friends! We will appropriately converse in relations to Minecraft, video games, hobbies, and other topics!

I play alongside my students and encourage them to discuss their ideas and tips amongst each other through productive dialogue. Students will continuously interact with me and other players within the Zoom meeting throughout each session; but more importantly students will be encouraged to communicate with each other to strategize and problem-solve through various difficult situations that may arise in the game as they progress.

Program Requirements: The Minecraft server players join in this gaming club is only compatible with Java Edition clients. Players need to connect with Java Edition (1.21).

**Bedrock, console, android, and IOS clients will not work!!!**

Minecraft Survival (SMP) Mode (Java Edition 1.21) - This is basic Minecraft survival mode with no mods, plugins, or any additional add-ons. Students will play in a shared survival world where pvp is disabled and the game-rule "keep-inventory" is enabled, this means that if players die their inventories will not be lost or dropped. The goal of the players in this game-mode is to defeat Minecraft survival mode by defeating the ender dragon in the end realm while working together as a team.

Minecraft Creative Mode (Java Edition 1.21) - Players will receive their own creative building plots (42x42 blocks wide) and they will be encouraged to use their creative imaginations to build super fun builds and projects!

Minecraft Kit-PvP (Java Edition 1.21) - Players will select fighting kits and compete against other players in an ongoing pvp battle. Players will have several location options to teleport to within the arena with the ability to choose where they want to fight other players at. When players die they will respawn in that world's spawn and choose where to respawn at; there's an unlimited amount of lives a player has, this is an ongoing fast-paced game.

Survival Games (Java Edition 1.21) - Players spawn in a battle-royale style arena where they must gather supplies and resources to fight against other players. The last player standing in this player-vs-player (PVP) based minigame wins!

Quakecraft (Java Edition 1.21) - This is Minecraft laser-tag! Players spawn in an arena and compete against other players to get 25 tags!

Minecraft Adventure Maps (Java Edition 1.21) - This gaming club will occasionally participate in a custom adventure map that will bring the class together to solve puzzles, riddles, and quests. Each map will require students to work together as a team to solve the mysteries within each adventure map.

This class will be hosted live via Zoom and students will connect to a private Minecraft server with their Minecraft accounts.

There is no specific skill level required for students to join this class; this is primarily for fun and for students to engage in conversation with one another. Gamers of all skill levels are welcome to join!

By enrolling your learner in this class, you're agreeing to the following classroom rules, expectations, and policies I set for my virtual classroom:

Classroom Rules and Expectations:
- Be kind to your fellow classmates, yourself, and the teacher.
- Use appropriate language. (No swearing, cussing, or abusive/threatening language.)
- Do not share any personal information or links.
- Allow others to speak and refrain from talking over someone who is already speaking.
- If you have a question, please be patient and raise your hand.
- Bullying of any kind will not be tolerated.
- Every student will need to have a Zoom username that matches their enrolled first name on Outschool, otherwise that student will not be let in, no exceptions.
- Every student will need to verify their identity via video (webcam) upon joining the session, otherwise that student will not be let in, no exceptions.

Student Behavior:
This policy is for both the Zoom session and on the Minecraft server. Students need to be respectful, kind, and courteous towards other students and the teacher. Behaviors that are aggressive, rude, or disruptive will not be tolerated, as this almost always ruins the experience for everyone else. Any student showing these behaviors will only receive two (2) warnings, after that they will immediately be removed from the session and will not be allowed back in until the next session.

Please understand that the minigames on this Minecraft server are just for fun and no progress will be lost if you lose a minigame. Also, these minigames are heavily player-vs-player (PvP) based coded games, and I understand that kids can become highly competitive, but that is absolutely not an excuse to be rude, mean, or aggressive towards another player. Again, students will only receive two (2) warnings if they violate this policy.

Microphone Use:
I do not require my students to keep their microphones muted during class, however, if a student is making unnecessary noises (i.e. singing, humming, created noises from wiggling/fidgeting, etc.) that cause a disruption, I will give that student two (2) warnings to mute their microphone. If they don't listen or just do not hear me, I will automatically mute their microphone without any further warning. This same rule applies for if/when a student is purposely talking over me, another student, or being disruptive.

Parent Engagement:
I invite parents of young students to be present during class, but I require that parents do not engage with other students. If you feel that another learner is being disruptive, please do not interrupt my class to bring this up. Please send me a message privately via Zoom or Outschool messages under the "conversations" tab. It is inappropriate to address another student for any reason in my class, please let me handle ALL interactions with other students who are not yours.

Communication Guidelines:
In direct correlation with Outschool's policies regarding communications, all means of communication between teachers, parents, and learners need to stay on the Outschool platform for student safety and privacy reasons. If a learner wishes to communicate with another student for any reason, the parent first needs to reach out to me via private message on Outschool, and then use the classroom page to communicate with the other parent.

More information on Outschool's policy for learner's staying in touch - https://support.outschool.com/en/articles/2086860-how-to-use-outschool-as-a-parent

Failure to follow these rules may result in a student’s immediate removal from the class or group and their enrollment being cancelled.

Minecraft Server Information:
- The multiplayer server is only compatible with Minecraft Java Edition (1.21).
- This is a private whitelisted server that is only accessible to students who are currently enrolled in my Minecraft classes.
- Students will be unable to connect to the Minecraft server or survival multiplayer (SMP) world outside of scheduled class times.
- Students will have access to the in-game server chat within the private Minecraft server, if you do not want your learner to communicate and engage in the Minecraft server chat, please let me know via private message on Outschool. The chat will be completely monitored by me during all sessions.

Refund Policy:
- If you determine that any enrollment with me is not a good fit for your learner, or you are unsatisfied with your purchase, I will 100% refund your enrollment fee.
- If your learner misses class, please reach out in advance and request a refund, I will get back to you as soon as possible. I understand there are other unforeseen circumstances and I’m willing to take care of refunds in those situations.
- If a learner misses class and I do not receive notice after 24 hours (1 day) of the missed class or session, parents may not be entitled to a refund.

Orientación para padres
These sessions will be held on a private Minecraft server created by me and the server will be put on a private whitelist. This means that no one can get on the server without my approval. Once a parent/guardian enrolls their student in the class, I will request the name of the student's Minecraft username which I will add to the server's whitelist database. This will enable students to successfully join the server. Online safety is my number one priority for all of my students.

Hello friends, my name is Teacher Riley!

I'm a virtual kindergarten and first grade teacher, I host Minecraft gaming clubs, and I coach youth soccer! I've been a virtual teacher for over one year and I have worked in the public school system as a para-educator for two years, primarily supporting students ages 5-11. I’m currently an undergraduate at Western Governors University, studying to earn a Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education degree.

I truly believe that every child has something special to bring to the world; and every child has a purpose with amazing talents to discover! I believe all children are capable of success, no exceptions!

Fun Facts: I'm a super passionate and avid gamer, I really enjoy playing Pokémon and Minecraft! I'm also a hockey player, outside of the virtual classroom I enjoy spending time skating on the ice with my friends!

Thank you for checking out my Outschool page, I truly appreciate your time! Please remember to be kind to yourself and others. Remember that you are valuable and you matter!
