At the end of the course, learners will receive a Mindfulness for Kids Certificate of Completion.

Experiencia de clase

Mindfulness for Kids will teach your child how to practice mindfulness through breathing exercises, games, stories, and art activities. Although mindfulness is a complex concept, in practice it is quite simple. Mindfulness is being fully engaged in the present moment without judgment. When you are in a mindful state, you are aware of your internal and external experience here and now. You are not ruminating about the past or worrying about the future. Mindfulness can increase focus, well-being, emotional intelligence, and empathy.

Seated meditation is how many adults practice mindfulness, but this is not a developmentally appropriate practice for most kids. Children learn mindfulness best through guided activities and stories. Mindfulness for Kids incorporates play, movement, stories, and art to teach mindfulness. Each week will have a different focus. Here is the structure of the course. 

-Week 1 will focus on using our breath to become more mindful. 
-Week 2 will focus on tuning into our senses to practice mindfulness. 
-Week 3 will focus on mindful movement.

Lección 1:
Let's Breathe
 In this lesson, we will practice mindfulness by tuning into our breath. We will learn rainbow breath, become mindful detectives, read a story, and draw using our breath as a guide.

Tune Into Your Senses
 In this lesson, we will focus on our senses to become more mindful. We will learn bumble bee breath, play guess the sound, read a story, and create art through describe & draw.

Mindful Movement
 In this lesson, we will move our bodies mindfully. We will learn elevator breath, play mindful freeze dance, read a story, and make art with color loops.
