This course is all about the United States government and how it connects to the everyday lives of learners. In this course, learners will review different types of government, the origins of democracy, citizen participation, and the three branches of government. Students will learn about their rights and responsibilities as citizens, the importance of civic engagement, and how they can actively participate in their community. Learners will gain insights into the democratic process, including elections, voting systems, and the significance of informed decision-making. This class does not meet live. A pre-recorded video will serve as your guide, along with assignments each week. Assignments include readings, worksheets, digital activities, and projects. Middle School Government aims to instill a sense of responsibility, respect, and curiosity about the workings of government and the impact it has on individuals and society. By the end of this course, students will not only be equipped with essential knowledge about governance but also be inspired to become active participants in shaping a better, more just world for all.
