1-2 horas por semana. Homework. Abacus exercises - done solely on the physical abacus to improve visual memory, finger-brain connection and number framing. Abacus practice- 30-50 math problems for the week. If it's 10-15 a day three days a week it will make a HUGE difference for the student in acquiring the skills of mental arithmetic. Mental math practice- will be given at hte end on the course to maintain the learned skills and practice. It is parents' responsibility to make sure the homework is accomplished during the week and students practice thoroughly. Each week's class is based on the previous skill. If a student hasn't done homework (which will be checked weekly) and is struggling to understand the new skill during the class, teacher won't be able to individually help the student to catch up while others are on track with their homework and skills.Evaluación

Metas de aprendizaje
Students will improve their understanding of mental arithmetic and will be introduced to a new framing of the numbers that is very different from what they know but allows them to understand the numbers faster and better.
We will take calculations with the numbers 1-99. We'll start slowly and progress as we learn new skills, do our homework and practice in class.
By the end of the course students will be able to visualize abacus and do 3-5-action math problems in their mind and at a quicker pace.
