During this live class, students will work 1:1 with the teacher to further develop mental math strategies and understanding of math concepts.  Students will work through a diagnostic assessment during the first meeting to determine level of mathematical understanding.  Subsequent class will be scaffolded to specifically meet the needs of the individual learner.  Parents will work with the teacher to determine the mathematical area of focus for each student.  
Sessions will focus on making sense of mathematics.  We will draw out student thinking to allow students "see" the math, make connections and deepen understanding of number.  Studies show that memorization and drills don't work for all students.  When students understand numbers...they have the skills to solve problems in a way that makes sense to them.  Students will build a math mindset that will give them the confidence to be the best that they can be!
