This class will review a great deal of the curriculum that a learner would have covered in a 3rd Grade math book. It is meant to be used as a review for learners who will be moving into the 4th Grade math curriculum next school year (2023-2024). However, if you have a learner who will be moving into the 3rd Grade curriculum, next school year, but want a sneak peek (review) before the new school year begins...they are welcome to enroll as well. My general suggestion is that parents start their learner off with reviewing the math curriculum within the previous school year. This way they can take a few weeks to gauge how much their learner has retained. Then, if the learner has mastered those concepts, they can be moved into the next level to review that curriculum and see how well they do with it. During our REVIEW sessions learners will work toward mastering the following math concepts on a 3rd grade level: Comparing Numbers, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Fractions, Time, Money, Measures, Place Value, Rounding and more. I have purposely excluded graphing and geometry because they both stress me out and I want your learners to actually succeed in mastering those two skills. LOL Comprehending mathematics may not come naturally to every student, but it should, at least, be fun and engaging! When students can’t see how math problems will be relevant to them in life they become less motivated to actually learn the concepts and instead memorize enough just to get a passing grade. As an educator my goal is to help students find new and innovative ways to actually enjoy what they are learning in the classroom and retain the mathematical concepts. Math is a very important and fundamental skill that students will need to rely on to be able to apply in their lives. I want to make sure that they have mastered each fundamental skill, not just passed a class. > > > AUTUMN SESSION - 11 WEEKS < < < Week of September 3rd: Numbers Week of September 10th: Numbers Week of September 17th: Place Value No Class - - - Sep. 24th - Sep. 30th - - - Autumn Break No Class - - - Oct. 1st - Oct. 7th - - - Autumn Break Week of October 8th: Place Value Week of October 15th: Counting Week of October 22nd: Counting Week of October 29th: Rounding Week of November 5th: Rounding Week of November 12th: Addition w/Money Week of November 19th: Addition w/Money Week of November 26th: Subtraction w/Money > > > WINTER SESSION - 11 WEEKS < < < Week of December 3rd: Subtraction w/Money Week of December 10th: Multiplication w/Money Week of December 17th: Multiplication w/Money No Class - - - Dec. 24th - Dec. 30th - - - Winter Break No Class - - - Dec. 31st - Jan. 6th - - - Winter Break Week of January 7th: Multiplication w/Money Week of January 14th: Multiplication w/Money Week of January 21st: Division w/Money Week of January 28th: Division w/Money Week of February 4th: Division w/Money Week of February 11th: Division w/Money Week of February 18th: Order of Operations Week of February 25th: Order of Operations > > > SPRING SESSION - 11 WEEKS < < < Week of March 3rd: Fractions Week of March 10th: Fractions Week of March 17th: Fractions Week of March 24th: Fractions Week of April 1st: Geometry Week of April 7th: Geometry Week of April 14th: Time No Class - - - Apr. 21st - Apr. 27th - - - Spring Break No Class - - - Apr. 28th - May 4th - - - Spring Break Week of May 5th: Time Week of May 12th: Measures Week of May 19th: Measures Week of May 26th: Measures > > > SUMMER SESSION - 9 WEEKS < < < No Class - - - Jun. 2nd - Jun. 8th - - - Summer Break Week of June 9th: Multi-Skill Review Week of June 16th: Multi-Skill Review Week of June 23rd: Multi-Skill Review No Class - - - Jul. 1st - Jul. 6th - - - Summer Break Week of July 7th: Multi-Skill Review Week of July 14th: Multi-Skill Review Week of July 21st: Multi-Skill Review No Class - - - Jul. 28th - Aug. 3rd - - - Summer Break Week of August 4th: Multi-Skill Review Week of August 11th: Multi-Skill Review Week of August 18th: Multi-Skill Review No Class - - - Aug. 25th - Aug. 31st - - - Summer Break *Multi-Skill Review (will include any 3 or 4 of the math concepts listed in the Autumn, Winter and Spring sessions) **This 3rd Grade group session is designed to review the math concepts that we will be practicing. This group is for REVIEWING and practicing the math concepts mentioned and mastering them further. If you are interested in practicing any ONE SPECIFIC math concept further, please check out some of the fun virtual gaming clubs that I also offer. ❗❗ 👑 IMPORTANT: KPE POLICIES 👑 ❗❗ Please click the following link to read our policies regarding: (1) Class Minimum Policy (2) Tardiness Policy (3) Camera Policy (4) Class Recording Policy (5) Makeup Class Policy (6) Transfer Policy (7) Refund Policy (8) Communication https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-muzsZCpFdu4u_I4MSb_yYypftxpDDSmfsMd8x9eZIs/edit?usp=sharing

Our group sessions are highly interactive and (sometimes) very competitive. The learners will have a chance to compete against each other (but also work together) each week and earn rewards as they play. Not all students will win. Learners should be able to exhibit good sportsmanship regardless if they win or lose.
In this group the materials will be presented to the learners via an interactive Canva or Google slideshow presentation (shared on the teacher's device, only). We also may utilize Google Docs for the assessments. No external links will be clicked. No additional websites will be visited. No additional logins are necessary for the learners.

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
My experiences as a home educator and private school teacher have afforded me 10+ years teaching math concepts to students of all ages, especially 3rd graders. Throughout those years I have developed many ways to make math mastery attainable for learners within the different levels. My all time favorite way is through gaming.
