🚨**NOTE: this is a self-paced schedule class, so there are NO scheduled live meetings. There will be pre-recorded videos and weekly activities.

In this 4-week long class students will go through the process of writing a five-paragraph reading response essay on Robert Frost's Poem "The Road Not Taken." Students will be called upon in school to respond to poems and texts critically. This class sets out to help them understand the structure of reading response essays so they can replicate the structure the next time they have to write a reading response essay.

Students will spend 1-2 hours weekly for four weeks to watch the videos and work on their essay. The videos are about 15-25 minutes and then students will write a certain part of their essay each week. By the end of the four weeks they will have completed their whole essay.

I have been teaching essay writing for over ten years and I love to expand students writing by asking them questions about their writing to get them to expand their ideas. I also believe that students need to have a structure to write from to really master the art of essay writing.

I also have lots of experience with students with a number of different abilities and neurodiverse students. I have experience with blind students, autistic students, students with ADHD, etc. If your student needs any accommodations to make this class more accessible for them please feel free to reach out and I will make these accommodations to the best of my ability.
