In "Master Math Facts with Coding," learners will dive into the exciting world of beginner coding while strengthening their multiplication fluency. Over four weeks, students will design their own interactive multiplication game in a supportive and fun environment. This class is perfect for young coders looking to combine creativity with essential math skills. While this class focuses on practicing multiplication facts for fluency and retention, it does not teach the foundational concept of multiplication. Class Experience This class is designed for very beginning coders, with step-by-step guidance to ensure success. Each week, we’ll explore basic coding concepts such as loops, variables, and user input. These skills will be used to build and refine a multiplication game that’s as fun to play as it is to create! Here’s how the class will be structured: Introduction (10 minutes): A quick review of multiplication facts and coding concepts from the previous week. Main Activity (30 minutes): Hands-on coding as we create and improve the game. Math Fluency Review (10 minutes): Fun, interactive multiplication practice to build speed and confidence. My teaching style is warm and engaging, using clear instructions, visual aids, and plenty of encouragement to keep learners motivated. I incorporate slides, live demonstrations, and interactive discussions to ensure everyone feels supported and excited about their progress. Learners will interact with me throughout the class via questions, discussions, and coding guidance. They’ll also have opportunities to share their ideas and show off their progress with the group. By the end of the course, each student will have a fully functional multiplication game and improved math fluency to celebrate!

Orientación para padres
This class uses the Scratch coding platform, a safe and child-friendly tool for creating coding projects. Learners will need access to Scratch via a computer or tablet, and a free Scratch account is required to save their work and continue projects outside of class. Additionally, I may use Nearpod or Pear Deck to enhance interactive learning. These tools do not require student accounts, as access will be provided via a shared link or code. Parents should ensure learners have a device capable of accessing these platforms. No upsetting or scary content is included in this class.
Requisitos previos
There are no prerequisites for this class, but learners should already understand how multiplication works. This class focuses on practicing multiplication facts for better fluency and retention, not teaching the concept of multiplication.
