1 hora por semana. Each week, the student will be asked to complete a portion of the pattern outside of the class's designated time. The length of time that this will take depends on the crochet speed of the learner. During the class, we will work on starting the different portions of the project. The students will then work independently during the week to complete the indicated portion of the project. The entire project will NOT be completed during JUST the class time. The teacher is available during the week to answer any questions that the students may have.

Experiencia de clase

If your student is interested in learning more difficult amigurumi crochet, this course will be perfect! Your student will learn all the skills necessary to make a stuffed moose. Those skills, in turn, can be applied to other amigurumi animals. Each week is broken down into the different steps that are needed to create the moose.

**Students should know the single crochet stitch.**

**Please see the homework section!**

Week One: This first week will be very informational, but it is essential that the students are given time to ask any questions that they may have about the required materials. We will go over all of the supplies that are needed to crochet a moose and learn the magic circle and/or the chain-2 method. We will start the ears and tail of our moose by learning how to increase our rounds. When we increase our rounds, we are adding stitches that then make the head wider. **A stitch marker will be needed.*

Week Two: We will learn to make the legs, using the increases and decreases. Then, we will tie off our work so the stitches do not come out. *Poly-fil/stuffing, a stitch marker, and a tapestry needle will be needed.**

Week Three: We will start the antlers. **A stitch marker will be needed.**

Week Four: We will work on the head and body of our moose. **Poly-fil, a stitch marker, safety eyes (optional), and a tapestry needle will be needed.**

Week Five: We will work on our moose's body by adding details and attaching more limbs. **Poly-fil/stuffing and a tapestry needle will be needed.**

Week Six: We will complete our moose by adding more details. **A tapestry needle and yarn will be needed.**

**If there are any weeks that the student may need/want more to crochet, we can always add accessories like flowers or bows!**

Please reach out to me if you have any questions regarding this course and I would be happy to help!

Happy Crocheting!

Orientación para padres
Students WILL need to use scissors and tapestry needles in this class. **Please note that the you will continue to work on the same project each week, so keep it stored in a safe place when you are not working on it.** **Safety eyes are only suitable for children aged 3 years and older. Please be aware of this in case there are younger siblings in the house. Safety eyes are completely optional as the amigurumi's eyes, nose, and mouth can be stitched on with a tapestry needle.**
Lista de útiles escolares
Yarn (Any THREE colors you would like!) You will need one color for the hooves, one color for the body, and one color for the antlers. I recommend yarns like Red Heart Super Saver, Caron One Pound, or Big Twist.

Crochet Hook (It's best to have a variety of smaller sizes to do crochet. I suggest a 2, 2.5, or 3MM crochet hook.)

Scissors

Tapestry Needle: they come in a variety of sizes. Just be sure that your yarn can go through the eye of the needle.

Stitch Markers: Extra strips of yarn or bobby pins work fine if you do not have these.

Poly-fil/stuffing

Safety Eyes (Optional)

A PDF file of this pattern will be posted to the classroom after the first class.

I learned to crochet in my middle school home economics class and I've been "hooked" ever since. *pun intended* :D I just did the math and that means that I have been crocheting for 20 years now. Wow!

Crochet is a wonderful hobby to make something creative but also useful. I have made many items such as washcloths, shawls, scarves, stuffed toys, and blankets. Over the years, I have learned that blankets are my absolute favorite item to make. There is a crocheted blanket on every bed in my home...and on every sofa...and some are stored...

I am the type of person that can not just sit and not have my hands be busy. Crochet is the perfect hobby to do while watching your favorite show for the 346th time. My hope for this class is to spark that love of crochet for every student that comes into the classroom. I hope to see you soon!
