Detalles: Each week students will gather various materials to have on hand for the next class.
For this maker space club, students will use a range of recyclable materials around the house as well as craft supplies they may already have. Each class, we will be using different types of materials, such as cardboard, plastic from bottles, pipe cleaners and more. Below is a list of materials ideas we may use. You can also use any alternatives you may have. Each week, I will post some materials to have on hand that students will use for their projects. I have found, having a box or bin of various materials can be helpful for your student to have a workable resource for their projects.

For each class, students will need-
A piece of paper or a designated sketchbook and a pencil with eraser.
Each week, students will spend 5 minutes drawing and designing their creations before using any materials.

Some of the Materials we may use are listed below. Students DO NOT need to have all the materials below, but it just gives you an idea of possibilities that may be used throughout the classes. Additional materials not listed here are welcome to use in the classes-

Cardboard- cut up boxes, egg cartons, toilet paper or paper towel tubes, small containers, etc.
Plastic- recycled bottle caps, containers, straws, spoons or forks, boxes or cartons, etc.
Wood- popsicle sticks, dowels, tooth picks, clothes pins, wood scraps, etc.
Metal- pipe cleaners, wire, paper clips, etc.
Natural resources- sticks, pine cones, acorns, cork, feathers, etc.
Paper- straws, plates, cups, old books, magazines, index cards, etc.
Fiber- yarn, string, fabric scraps, ribbon, felt, stuffing, etc.
Adhesives- rubber bands, glues, glue gun, tapes, etc.
Items for decorating- markers, colored pencils, stickers, washi tapes, etc.
Basic tools students may have- glue gun, scissors, manual drill, stapler, etc.
Students can use any tools they are able to. This may include a glue gun, scissors, wire cutters or any tools they have at home to create their projects.
