Look over moving parts, and why they need to be lubricated.  Oil gets dirty over time.  Engine oil, processed from crude oil, is the substance that keeps your engine going day after day.  Also will find out the function of engine oil in the lubrication system.  How are oils rated, and what are synthetic oils

The objective of this course will be

- Define the purpose of engine oil
- Explain oil service and viscosity ratings
- Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of synthetic oils
- Discuss the importance of oil filters
- Change the oil and filter on a vehicle

Have an interest in automotive? Want to learn basic automotive 101 classes? Welcome to my class.

I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Management in 2007. After graduating, I found a passion for cars and started from the basics. I've been in the automotive industry for over 14 years. I was a Store Manager at a major automotive repair center and I also taught automotive classes at my local community college. 

I first started working and training with Lexus and Toyota. As I've gained knowledge and experience, I moved my way up the ladder and now I'm excited to teach this course to help others in understanding automotive basics.

My goal is to introduce a class that is easy to understand and become a resource for students in the future. At the end of each class, students should have an understanding of the current topic. The goal is to understand the functions of a car and provide self-help when running into issues or avoiding costly mistakes.
