Through my guided drawing process, students will learn how to break down lines and shapes to draw a cartoon otter with a baby. We will then trace and color them. My teaching style involves breaking the process down into smaller, easy-to-follow steps. I pace the class according to the needs of the students; if needed, I give fast finishers a break, allowing students who need more time to complete their work, the time to do so, and even then, finishing before class ends is NOT the objective. My classes are intended to be fun, informative, and a safe place to take artistic risks and make mistakes--that is experimentation, which artists do all the time!

Students may opt to create a collage. This involves cutting and gluing. Parental guidance with scissors is strongly recommended.

Paper (copy paper or drawing paper is fine; if the student wants to use paint, heavier paper is recommended) pencil, eraser, sharpener Black Sharpie Crayons, colored pencils, watercolor pencils or markers may be used for coloring (student choice; I will be using colored pencils)
