Evaluación
Throughout the class, I will have artists share their work with me to see their progress and ask questions as they arise.

Experiencia de clase

This process-inspired art piece uses coffee filters and a diffusion technique with watercolors to create a fun effect of a planet in space with a swirly, galaxy sky. Artists are encouraged to create a colorful planet of their choice!

We will open our class with some brief social time to get to know one another and understand the goal of the project and the supplies needed.

We will look at some examples via my art cam and shared screen before choosing our own colors and applying them to the filter through strokes of our markers or paintbrush. Artists will use water to blend colors. The effect is beautiful! After that, we will add a few touches of stardust and we can quickly paint a fun, energetic background for our galaxy sky.

Also, please remember that all artists learn at their own pace, so some may not complete their work 100% during class. I will assess where everyone is several times to gauge the pace and adjust as time allows. I will provide many opportunities to view the steps and ask questions as they arise. Artists are always encouraged to share respectful conversations and interactions throughout the class. Thank you!
Metas de aprendizaje
My goal is for artists to have the experience of painting a fun space scene using a new technique that is process-art inspired and very interactive and for them to continue to experiment on their own.

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Licenciatura en Música o Teatro o Artes desde UCLA
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA and have enjoyed working with vibrant colors through markers, paints, chalk pastels and more. My personal style, as reflected in my own artwork over the years, is more abstract, graphic, and even impressionistic. I worked with young learners for several years when I was in charge of a volunteer- lead art program that focused on art elements and the art masters. We did many different thematic projects and used different media each month. I continue to search for and develop more projects incorporating fun compositions and techniques. I love discovering how one technique can have unexpected results and even be used in new ways. Sharing these colorful and simple ideas with young artists is exciting - I often learn from them as well as they express themselves!
