Is your child enjoying reading? This multi-day class is designed for students who have completed the skills in level 1-7. This class will continue to spark the joy of reading in each learner. Lessons are structured around activities that will meet each child's individual level. My teaching style encourages confidence in readers through interactive fun games, short read alouds, poetry and creating written sentence puzzles. Topics covered will include "phonics clues" and "special spellings" that teach sounding out words with vowel teams, syllable types and heart words (sight words). I look forward to continuing with my learners and helping each one to continue to become a more fluent reader! Week 1: are as in care; vowel rule review; syllable types; Heart Words; Bingo games; sentence puzzles; read aloud Week 2: war as in warm; eigh as in weigh; digraphs, syllable types; Heart Words; Bingo games; sentence puzzles; read aloud Week 3: ir as in bird; ur as in nurse; syllable types; heart words; board games; sentence puzzles; read aloud Week 4: kn as in knot, gn as in gnat; syllable types; heart words; board games; sentence puzzles; read aloud

Students will need the following supplies in a box or bin for each class: small white board, eraser, markers, pencil and eraser, sentence strips (approx. 20), 3x5 cards (approx. 25), one die (singular for dice), printed Bingo pages (attachments in welcome letter) and bingo markers (buttons, pieces of cereal, paper cut out into small circles, etc.).
