"Your mind is a garden and books are the seeds, so pick a favorite, and bloom as you read!" These beginning independent reader are level 2 readers by Scholastic publications and will be perfect for your developing reader. These are designed for 2nd grade reading level, but could easily be read by an advanced 1st grader, or beginning 3rd graders. We will spend the class, reading directly from the reader to each other. Students will not need their own copy of the reader, though it may be to their preference. I will provide an online image of the pages for them to read, but some students prefer to hold the book in their own hands, to reading it on a screen. These books may be found at libraries and new and used bookstores. This will be a round-robin reading club where every student will take a turn reading aloud and listening while other students read. Thus, this class is ongoing until we finish all the books. You may join the class at any time. The order of books is as follows: Week of: 7 April: The Magic School Bus: Artic Adventure 14 April: The Magic School Bus Gets Crabby 21 April: The Magic School Bus Has A Heart 28 April: The Magic School Bus Flies from the Nest 5 May: The Magic School Bus & the Wild Leaf Ride 12 May: The Magic School Bus Rides Again in Hide & Seek 19 May: The Magic School Bus Rides Again in Rock Man vs. Weather Man 26 May: The Magic School Bus Rides Again in Glacier Adventure 2 June: The Magic School Bus Takes A Moonwalk 9 June: The Magic School Bus Flies with the Dinosaurs 16 June: The Magic School Bus Gets Recycled 7 July: The Magic School Bus Gets Caught in A Web 14 July: The Magic School Bus and the Shark Adventure 21 July: The Magic School Bus Builds the Statue of Liberty 28 July: The Magic School Bus and the Missing Tooth We will then circle back and revisit list of books. Reading to peers and following along as peers read to one another is a necessary reading skill for elementary age readers. This skill will be honed while we enjoy taking chances, making mistakes and learning with the Magic School Bus!

Hello from Texas! Although I am currently residing in Texas, we move quite often and that has allowed me to have many different types of career experiences. I have tutored privately and through well-known organizations; taught in the public school classroom setting with a self-contained classroom; substituted and interned in private school classroom settings; instructed at the community college level; assisted with museum operations; and homeschooled my three munchkins. I have worked with early education all the way up to the community college level. I have a bachelor's of education and a master's of American History with a concentration in Native American studies
