Evaluación
Learners may submit videos of their progress at each level for teacher feedback. In a separate class listing, students may enroll in my One-on-one formal assessment for further guidance.

In this trial week of my Level 1 Phonics-based reading program, students will experience my teaching style, content delivery, assignment expectations, and the difficulty of the class content. This class will help you and your student decide to enroll in my full-program flex class. In the full program, you can expect to see the same predictable format and assignments week after week. What you see in this trial class is what you will get in the full program, just with different words, sentences, and stories.

🌟 This class focuses on phonics, phonemic awareness, letter sounds, blends, segmenting, decoding, CVC words, and other early reading skills.

🎬 This class is offered in the FLEX format in which all content will be delivered through videos and PDF documents. There are no live class meetings.

I teach using the Phono-Graphix method of reading instruction which is very similar to Orton Gillingham. This is a phonics-based approach that focuses on the sound-to-symbol relationship students need to master in order to become strong readers and spellers. 

📖 The Phono-Graphix reading method has been proven 98% effective at addressing reading problems at any age or ability level. Phono-Graphix is research-based, developmentally appropriate, simple, concrete, and affordable. This program addresses the fundamental skills of decoding, encoding, auditory processing, code knowledge, and sequencing.

Level 1 is for learners who do not yet know all the sounds that match the letters in the alphabet. They will learn all the sounds and how to blend them together to make Consonant-Vowel-Consonant (CVC) words. Students will also learn to segment the sounds in order to spell the words they are learning to read. 

Students will use their own letter tiles or the Google Jamboard (interactive whiteboard) I provide to follow the video lessons. The lessons can be repeated as many times as needed in order to master the skills taught. 

Word lists are provided in a PDF format for families to use in order to support their learners. 
Once learners have completed each video lesson, they are expected to post a response to the weekly progress questions posted on the classroom page. Creative sentences, drawings, or video responses to the progress questions are great ways for learners to share what they’ve learned with each other!

🗓 After completing this one-week trial, or sample week, learners are encouraged to continue by enrolling for Weeks 2-4 in "Level 1 Phonics-Based Reading: Weeks 2-4 - FLEX"

 Build CVC words using letter tiles. 
Lección 2:
CVC Auditory Processing
 Practice moving sounds in and out of words to build new words. 
Lección 3:
CVC Word Reading and Spelling
 Sound out CVC words and use blending skills to read new words. Use segmenting skills to spell the words. 
Lección 4:
CVC Sentence Reading
 Apply all the skills learned this week by reading sentences with CVC words.

I am a certified elementary teacher and certified reading therapist. I am offering this class to give students an in-depth study of how our English words are structured, and how to break them down into their sounds in order to make decoding easier. I teach each lesson using the Phono-graphix method which I have been formally trained in by the program authors.  I have been using this strategy with my private students for over 20 years and my students have had amazing success with it.
