I offer two different time options for this class: Monday & Friday! If these dates do not work for you, please request a different time and I will reach out to you. ***Please read the schedule below to know which topic is covered: MONDAY CLASS SCHEDULE & TOPICS: 1.Week of 7/25: Nucleus 2.Week of 8/1: Mitochondria 3.Week of 8/8: CANCELED 4.Week of 8/15: Ribosome 5.Week of 8/22: CANCELED 6.Week of 8/29: Endoplasmic Reticulum 7.Week of 9/5: NO CLASS- LABOR DAY 8.Week of 9/12: Golgi Apparatus 9. Week of 9/19: Cellular Membrane 10. Week of 9/26: Lysosome and Peroxisomes 11. Week of 10/3: Vacuole/ cell wall / chloroplast In this on-going course, we will learn in-depth details about each organelle in our cells. We will cover all the organelles in eukaryotic cells (animal/plant cells).**It is best if the learner has previously taken my "Basics of Cell Biology: Learn the Organelles of an Animal Cell" class FIRST or already have basic knowledge of cells. Each class will be covering a new organelle. We will cover both animal and plant organelles. Enrollees can join anytime, since there is new material each week on a different and separate organelle. These classes will be able to stand alone, as a new topic is covered each class. My teaching style is very upbeat and enthusiastic, but overall laid back and non-stressful. I have come to realize that students do not learn when they are feeling stressed or anxious, so I make it my goal to try to provide a relaxing learning environment. I love visual learning, so I will provide models and 3-D images for us to be able to explore these organelles vividly. Learners are encouraged to ask questions, make connections, share their thoughts all, etc all throughout class. This is a discussion-based class. I love asking questions for quizzing as we go along to test their knowledge. Students who WANT to answer are encouraged, but no one will be forced to answer if they do not want to speak out. I try to provide a stress-free environment each class. These classes have very hard material in them, so I do my best to make the material we cover easy to understand in a laid back environment.
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will improve their learning on the role of each organelle in their cells. They will learn how animal cells are different from bacteria, viruses, and plant cells. This knowledge is needed for middle school, high school, and college. I believe it is very important to lay a good foundation on this complex topic, as it can be difficult to learn.

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
I have my bachelor's degree in biology. Higher level cellular biology classes were my all-time favorite courses to take during college. I have taken genetics, molecular cell biology 1, molecular cell biology 2, anatomy and physiology, and many others. I enjoyed these classes so much during college, I became a teacher's assistant my junior and senior year for my biology professors, which included teaching labs and assisting in class lectures. I enjoy learning and teaching about science on the microscopic level. My passion and enthusiasm for these topics will show in my teaching.
