¡Bienvenidos a la clase de español!  Welcome to Spanish class!  In this beginner conversational Spanish I welcome all students including those being introduced to Spanish and those who have had a few classes.

I provide all the vocabulary and sentence starters to successfully role play and participate in fun games.  Students have several opportunities to speak and the repetition helps seal the vocabulary.

I am gentle, kind, and encouraging.  I rephrase students' responses in Spanish instead as a form of gentle correction.  Research shows the less stressed students are, the better they learn another language!

**The classes are drop in!  No previous knowledge necessary, you can drop in at any time.  All classes are at the beginner level but the vocabulary changes so that it's useful for brand new students and returning students.

Students will learn to discuss greetings, numbers, the alphabet, the date, weather, likes, dislikes, hobbies etc. We will tell stories, ask and answer questions, role play, and play games all in Spanish. I will teach in Spanish with tons of pictures, gestures and some English when necessary.  Vocabulary and written notes will be given as homework.  

My style of teaching involves comprehensible input.  This means giving students lots of input (Spanish) that’s comprehensible (that they can understand) as the primary teaching method.  I will speak slowly, write out words, use pictures, gestures etc. to make sure students are comprehending the Spanish.  When necessary, I will explain the grammar.  Also, I will provide homework activities to support the learning in class.
