In this introduction to sign language class, your child will learn basic greetings in American Sign Language. I think children learn best through fun and play; I utilize movement/games to help expose learners to sign. Through this class your child will learn how to sign greetings such as hello, how are you?, etc. This is an interactive class in which learners will practice conversing with each other in sign language. I will open the class with a fun icebreaker that gives the learners a chance to get to know each other and interact with each other, followed by a playful activity that incorporates movement and provides more opportunities for them to interact with each other. Afterward the learners will explicitly be taught the signs and play a game that allows them to practice signing to communicate with each other. This interactive class is a great way to introduce your learners to sign and help them develop a love for ASL. Time may go over schedule depending on the learner’s level of engagement.
