During this self-paced class, the learner will be taught how to sew a button on an article of clothing. They will also learn how to pin pants to prepare for hemming. This same stitch can be used to hem any article of clothing.
- The learner will learn how to sew on a button.
- The learner will learn how to measure pants to prepare them for hemming.
- The learner will learn how to hem pants.
I have been sewing for approximately 47 years.
This class provides clear, concise directions along with a step-by-step demonstration of each skill to help students who are neurodivergent be successful.
The learners should have the fine motor skills to thread a needle, or they should have someone that can help them with this step.
Button Thread Sewing Needle Straight Pins Pants or item to be hemmed Scissors Measuring tape Someone to help with the pinning portion of this class. (One person in the pants, one pinning them)
Sewing involves the use of sharp objects like pins, needles, and scissors. Supervision and support may be needed.
