There are so many different phonic classes out there and having taught a number of different types of curriculums I have seen what works for who and why. Long stories, songs and lots of chatting work well when it comes to English-speaking children who have a foundation in speaking English. What about students who have little exposure to English and a limited vocabulary? Well, this class solves the problem. This course is based on the successful Read, Write Inc curriculum that is used in many British schools. I have been trained in this approach, however, all materials that I will be using will be my own resources and therefore will be freely available for all the students to use as they please. This approach is based on lots of repetition, little discussion, short classes and focused instruction. All set 3 sounds will be taught. These are diagraphs that should be taught after set 2 diagraphs and also after all set 1 sounds (m a s d t, i n p g o, c k u b, f e l h sh, r j v y w, th z ch qu x ng nk). If your child has not yet learnt their set 1 and 2 sounds, please do those courses phonics  first. This course follows on from that. 

The set 3 sounds are as follows:   ea as in eat,  oi as in coin, a-e as in cake, i-e as in bike,    o-e as in home, oo as in book, u-e as in cute, as as in yawn, ur as in nurse, er as in letter, ow as in cow, ai as in snail, oa as in goat, ew as in chew, ire as in fire, ear as in hear, ure as in pure, are as in care.

Each week there will be 5 short lessons to watch. These lessons will be pre-recorded lessons that will be shared with an unlisted Youtube link. You are welcome to watch it as many times as you need. Four lessons will be introducing new sounds and the other  lessons will be a weekly review or a story to read. With each recording there will be a printable, the letter flash cards that have been learnt and as reading builds up- words flashcards and reading sheets. Once all sounds have been taught- students can contact me and a 1:1 private lesson can be arranged to assess if all sounds have been mastered,
 Classes are short but regular so that students can build up their foundational knowledge and have lots of repetition and practice.
