Nivel de inglés: desconocido
Grado de EE. UU. Kindergarten - 1
In this class students will learn how to identify letters by the sounds that they make. They will then learn and practice blending sounds to form words and sentences. Each lesson will include practice with identifying sounds, blending words, rhyming, new vocabulary, comprehension and writing. I will teach from slides and also use my hands and body movements to help with understanding, for example: counting sounds when sounding out words and demonstrating how to form our mouths to create the correct sounds. Slides will be interactive so students should have access to their writing tools via the Zoom annotation bar. Students will learn how to read in this class. Students can join at anytime and feel comfortable learning because lessons are repetitive and all information taught is revisited during each lesson. All story titles are from "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons" by Siegfried Engelmann.

*students should be familiar with all sounds and understand how to blend sounds to sound out words.

Week of March 28: we will read story titles: "do not make fun of a horse", "the singing bug" and "the dog that dug" and answer comprehension questions:
Week of April 4: we will read story titles: “the dog that dug", "the eagle meets a beagle" and "a home for an ant" and answer comprehension questions.
Week of April 11: we will read story titles: "the old man did not hear well", "the pig that liked to hide" and "the frog that made big sounds" and answer comprehension questions.
Week of April 18: we will read story titles: "the frog that made big sounds", "the bed bugs" and "hunting for tigers" and answer comprehension questions.

* Each week will include additional vocabulary that will be used to practice consistent blending methods to read new words, sentences and stories.

▬▬▬▬▬▬ ⭐About Us⭐ ▬▬▬▬▬▬
Polyglots Academy was established in the state of Minnesota in the year 2011. Beginning as a program serving students in PreK-2nd grade, we have since expanded our class offerings to include students up to 12th grade. Our primary focus is to promote literacy through the encouragement of world language learning. We teach and enhance literacy skills in multiple languages which currently include: English, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Russian. We also include classes in the areas of S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) to allow students to explore their learning interests across multiple subjects.
Our goal is to provide a safe, fun, and engaging environment where children can develop strong language skills and cultural competency. We believe that every child has the potential to learn a new language, and we are committed to helping them achieve their full potential.
