Some are man-made, while others have been created through the power and beauty of mother nature. Together we will travel across the globe, and explore the Pyramids of Egypt, The Great Wall of China, Uluru and the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, among many others. At each location we will discuss how it got there, its historical and cultural significance, and what we can do to preserve it for future generations. Join us in this class as we blend exploration, science and history and uncover the secrets of the many Wonders hidden throughout our planet! In our classes we will focus on the geography, science, history and cultures that go along with each of our wonders. We will look at the ancient civilizations that built or revered these sites. We will discover how modern humans interact with and preserve them. And we will learn how the geography of a monument or nation can change history for thousands of years! Each week students will discover a new wonder, learn about how it was created and how we can preserve it for future generations. We will investigate its related cultural, geographic and historical influences. And we will learn about the people, nations and civilizations that built or revered these locations!
