In this one-time course, we will be making Edible Birthday Cake Slime using basic materials in our pantry. We will begin by going over all the materials we will be using to create the slime. Then we will take turns making predictions about how our slime will turn out. Here’s some questions we will ask ourselves: Will this slime be tasty? What will it look like? Will the slime be stiff and hard? How will the slime smell? After we have completed our predictions we made that the beginning of class, we will proceed to create our edible slime! Learners will get a live step by step tutorial on how to create the slime. Finally, learners will be given time to explore the slime they created and we will wrap up the class sharing our thoughts and prediction outcomes! In this class, I welcome open discussion between learners. Allowing learners to share experiences and personal accounts when they created a slime in the past. No prior experience or knowledge is needed just a can do attitude to have FUN!

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Hello families, I would like to formally welcome
you to my classroom! My name is Ms. Kay and I thrilled you chose me to be your child’s teacher. With an early childhood education background, I am a former preschool teacher originally from NYC but living in the DMV due to the pandemic.
I have held lead and senior positions in education facilities as a curriculum development leader, small group facilitator and teacher.
Since the pandemic I’ve been able to connect with families virtually teaching arts and crafts, stem classes, cooking classes, sensory and slime classes to children 3-12 years old. With my love of English, arts and language development, I think the classes I offer would appeal to any family looking to learn with a twist! As I further my career, I have been a full time nanny/ homeschool teacher and have also supervised and taught High-school graduates how to effectively work with children. I am super passionate about my work and love being in the classroom and surrounded by little ones.
My philosophy is child led, empowering all of students to your use their voice to express themselves, and to embrace their individuality understanding that they bring something fun and unique to class and each art project they create that cannot be replicated by anyone. I offer an inclusive class, so no gender stereotypes all children can participate in each one of my classes!
I can’t wait to see you soon! Thank you for choosing me to be your child’s arts and crafts experience!
