Nivel Intermediate - Advanced
This series of weekly classes, aimed at upper intermediate to advanced ESL /EAL students at level B1/2-C1 English level, aims to open students' eyes to different perspectives and ideas while developing debating skills. Students will learn about different global challenges or topical discussions as well as directly working on key debating techniques through interactive engaging slides from Abridge academy. Debating helps to cultivate critical thinking skills, enhancing communication abilities by allowing learners to articulate their thoughts clearly, considering multiple perspectives on a topic and effectively defend their viewpoints- fostering an open mindedness and an ability to engage in respectful dialogue with opposing opinions This not only helps debating, but also helps learners to write more powerful essays too! These skills are readily transferable to other academic subjects. It’s also a great way to improve ESL learners’ vocabulary and their ability to form arguments using persuasive language. Debates cover a wide rage of topics, providing a platform for discussing cultural differences, diverse perspectives and global issues preparing learners for success in a globalized world. Learners will be using the engaging and interactive slides designed for online debating classes utilizing the Abridge Academy with upper intermediate - advanced ESL/EAL in mind to join. Debating topics . Should school uniforms be banned ? . School Lunch vs.Packed Lunch ? . Should teenagers have part time jobs? .Should pets be allowed in cafes? .Should Zoo's be banned? .UFO's aren't real . Should plastic bottles be banned .
