Welcome! I am a certified K-8 Educator with a Reading endorsement as well as being trained in the Orton Gillingham approach and in LETRS, the Science of Reading. I have over 18 years of teaching experience, including teaching K/1, Classroom Support/Reading Specialist, Homeschool Support Teacher and I homeschooled 2 of my children from grades 1-8. I continue to seek new opportunities to grow and learn in my field.
My passion is guiding students into becoming confident, independent lifelong readers. I believe in building up children in their confidence and successes. Taking time with children so they can build their skills to become successful is important. Finding different avenues and ways to teach and reach students is something I value as an educator. My favorite moments in teaching include seeing the 'aha' moments in students when something clicks for them!
I fulfilled a lifelong dream of mine traveling to New Zealand a few years ago with my family for several weeks. What a gift it was to spend time with family and see a new beautiful area of the world!
I look forward to getting to know your student and being a part of their journey in learning!
