Club Lego: Desafíos de ingeniería

Lego's are a simple solution to learning! There are countless benefits to playing with Lego's!

Each class I will provide students students with a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) challenge that they will complete in class.  They will work on their fine motor skills by picking up and building with their blocks. Together, we problem solve an with other students to discuss struggles, limitations, and modifications we might need to make to our designs. Sometimes, Lego's fall apart. In a STEM Lego class we use this opportunity to talk about what we can improve on, and we learn the value of persistence. Knowing, we can build it again, and better!  

Through playing with Lego's we will discuss:
-the Scientific process
-Science and Engineering concepts such as simple machines, weight and tension, gravity, etc. 
-Math Concepts like Volume, Patterns, Mass
-Explain and Evaluate our creations at the end of class
 
Students will be having so much fun they won't even realize they're learning, and will end the class with a sense of accomplishment!

Feel free to use regular Lego's, Lego Duplo's, Mega Blocks, or any other block like toy!
