Are you looking for a fun class to help your child become excited about reading? This class will help build confidence in readers who are learning to put sounds together as we learn some of the basic foundations of learning to read in engaging ways! Sight words are words that students can learn to recognize and not need to spend time decoding, or sounding out every single letter while reading. When students have a list of sight words they can read, it helps them to be more fluent and confident readers (so they don't have to sound out EVERY single word that they are reading)! This is a very important step in learning how to read independently. In this course, students will be engaged in many multisensory, hands-on activities to help them learn 44 of the Dolch sight words. Students will learn 2-3 words each lesson that follow a sound pattern that will be taught during class. Through repetition, students will be writing, reading, spelling, and playing games to help them learn their sight words in a snap! Whether they are brand new to sight words or just need a little review, this class will cover 44 Dolch sight words. We will also practice reading/blending CVC words, learning some blends/digraphs, spelling and writing sight words, counting how many words are in a sentence, important parts of a sentence, discussing punctuation marks, and more! Each class I will show kids a game or activity that they can use at home to continue to practice their sight words. This will be a fun and inclusive class so I hope your learner will join us! Feel free to join us at anytime! :) **Please note that this class is for learners who are able to mostly identify/write their letters. We will work on blending sounds together in class so if your learner isn't confident on this, there will be practice during class! If your child still needs a little help with writing letters, parent support off-camera is appreciated. Please let me know if you have questions about whether this class may be a good fit for your child. If your child is not secure in letter names and sounds, I do have a class on learning letters and sounds that is multisensory as well! I also have a class to help children learn how to blend CVC words together if your child isn't sure of how to put 3 letter sounds together (examples: cat, big, run). If your child knows most of the sight words on this list, I also have Learning to Read Class 2 which works on more reading/phonics skills. Please message me with any questions! :)** Here are the list of words we will be working on: ___________________________________________________________ **New Session starting the week of Mon.
