In this one-to-one class, learners will improve reading skills using a phonics based approach. Class is designed to help struggling readers develop fluency and to help ESL learners recognize and understand the English language. We will develop a plan for each enrolled learner based on needs. I am happy to provide learning content (which I have used for my own homeschooled children) or you can feel free to submit your material to me if you have a preferred curriculum or reading plan. As a teacher for several companies and for private students, I encountered hundreds of students at different reading levels and helped them advance their skills while offering motivation to move forward. I am also a homeschool mom to two children, one with ADHD. I have developed techniques to encourage her to learn to read and enjoy it as we have been on our journey.
One-on-one support moving at the needs of the learner focusing on patience and flexibility with guidance on letter reversals, phonics, and techniques to develop reading mastery as an individual.
Learners will need to know the alphabet and it is preferable that letter sound recognition is mastered. However, we can develop a plan for sound recognition if your child is struggling.
