En esta clase a su propio ritmo, los alumnos aprenderán a combinar sonidos para leer palabras de 4 y 5 sonidos. Es perfecta para alumnos que conocen los sonidos de palabras grandes, pero tienen dificultades para combinarlos. ¡Incluye juegos de repaso e historias!

In this class I will demonstrate how to blend sounds together to read longer words with 4 and 5 sounds.  After I demonstrate how to blend the sounds together, I will show the learner new words that they can try sounding out by using the blending strategy I demonstrated.  I will give the learner a few seconds of time to try on their own before I blend and read the word.  Listening to me read the word will allow the learner to check to see if they blended the letters correctly and got the correct word.

I will provide many examples and many words for the learner to practice and read, including some that have red lettered blends in them.  Colored letters are helpful for "right brained" learners.

The video can be re-watched for extra blending and reading practice.

I have included several activities and some stories for your child to practice blending as they read after they watch the video lesson.

Requisitos previos

Learners should know all their letter sounds and be able to read 3 sound words. If your child does not know how to read 3 sound words, I would suggest taking my level 1 blending sounds class first.

Hello!
I have been teaching on Outschool since 2022, and I am absolutely loving it! I love meeting children from all over the world and helping them learn how to read or helping them to grow in their reading abilities.  

My professional background/educational experiences:
After graduating from high school, I attended Bible college and then went to university to get my Bachelor of Education degree.  I was a substitute and term teacher for many years for a variety of grade levels.  I homeschooled my own children for one wonderful year.  And then I taught kindergarten in the public school system for 11 years.

While teaching kindergarten, I thought I knew how to teach children how to read, but it wasn't until I found Reading Simplified and took their amazing reading course, that I finally learned the scientific and proven way of how to teach children how to read!  The Reading Simplified method works!  I have been working with many children for the past 2 years and been amazed at how much and how quickly many of them improve in their reading!

I have also discovered that some children who struggle to learn how to read benefit from Right Brained Teaching Strategies.  This past year I have been learning how to help these bright learners with strategies taught by Dianne Craft.

I am passionate about making an emotional connection with each child and making each child feel seen, heard, special and loved.  I strive to be caring, kind and encouraging while teaching new concepts to young learners.

I am a mom to three beautiful adult daughters, 2 amazing son-in-laws and a Nana to the most precious little baby girl.  I live in Manitoba (which is in Canada:) and I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, attending church and exploring the beautiful outdoors.  My favorite activity of all is waterskiing and boating on the lake with my family.  When I am not busy being active in the great outdoors, I love spending a quiet evening reading an engaging book beside my fireplace.
